Minecraft has published Snapshot 21w06a, the latest Java Edition snapshot for the 1.17 Caves & Cliffs Update!
This update introduces new cave generation and increases the height & depth of the world! An additional 64 blocks have been added to both the upper and lower build limits, allowing for depths of y=-64 and height of Y=320. This allows for new deeper caves with Aquifers – localized water levels – and new types of cave generation nicknamed ‘Spaghetti’ and ‘Cheese’ caves!
In this video, I explore these features in Survival Minecraft before breaking out Spectator and Creative mode to get an overview of the changes.
