Last year, we released the Better Together update, which let players on Xbox One, Windows 10, VR and mobile devices play Minecraft together across platforms. Today, another console joins the list of cross-play compatible devices, as Better Together comes to Minecraft on Nintendo Switch!

This new version of Minecraft on Switch uses the Bedrock engine, and is available digitally on Nintendo eShop and at retail. Already own Minecraft: Nintendo Switch edition? You can download the new version for free!

Plus, along with Phase One of Update Aquatic and all future updates, this new version of Minecraft includes the Super Mario Mash-up pack. Wahoo!

Featured servers are community servers for the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft, which are partnered with Mojang AB and are accessible from the in-game server list. In the console versions, they are the only servers accessible besides Realms. Although the Bedrock Edition lacks the Mini Games of the Legacy Console Edition, featured servers can have their own minigames to play online. Featured servers require an Xbox Live account and have no fee to join. However, they have microtransactions which are purchasable from their own sections of the Marketplace.
